Want to know how to Zoom in using the second Camera on the iPhone 7 Plus? Read on.

Whilst size is cited as the number one difference between Apple’s latest releases,  the camera offerings are the most interesting contrast.

The iPhone 7 offers a single 12 megapixel, with optical image stabilisation, an ƒ/1.8 aperture and a six-element lens for improved capture in low light situations, with four smart LEDs that flash 50 per cent brighter than iPhone 6s. However the iPhone 7 Plus offers not one, but two 12-megapixel cameras that work together to give you one superimage.

Both cameras are fitted with different lenses; one with a 28mm f1.8 wide angle lens and the other, Apples ‘telephoto’ lens, is a 56mm f2.8 offering. Whilst some are quick to point out the secondary lens isn’t technically telephoto, it does allow you to zoom in on your subject without degrading the quality, whilst providing an all-new depth-of-field effect (coming soon).

So how do you zoom whilst keeping the quality?

1. Open Camera App

2. Tap the circle icon above the on-screen shutter button that says 1x to change it to  2x (to begin shooting at 56mm.)

To Zoom further simply Pinch within the viewfinder to zoom in or out, or place your finger over the 1x logo and slide up and down (or left and right, depending on the orientation of the phone) to adjust the zoom level.
