How to Customise the New Taptic Home Button on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7

The iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 had some considerable design adjustments when handsets launched earlier this year, including a water resistant housing and headphone jack-less design.

Another major overhaul was the Home button, which became the most responsive home button we’ve seen yet thanks to a new taptic engine. Rather than the Home button clicking when you press it, like a physical button, the new Home button of the iPhone 7 subtly vibrates at your touch.

You can even customise your Home Button, choosing from varying levels of feedback you feel when you press the software-enabled Home button.

Here’s how to customise your Home Button:

Tap on Settings -> General -> Home Button -> Now choose 1, 2 or 3 on the screen.

When you tap on the option you can then push the home button to feel the feedback that you get when using these three options.

Once you’ve found a level of feedback comfortable to you, simply tap “Done” in the top-right hand corner to save your selection.

Of course this isn’t groundbreaking customisation, but we’re hoping with iOS updates Apple will add to the features of the taptic button providing us with innovative options.
