Will LG get rid of the Modular design for the LG G6?
The LG G5 launched earlier this year with removable modules / LG Friends that snap into the bottom of the handset, adding functionality and features to the device. The LG Friends line included the LG Cam Plus, Bang and Olufsen Hi-Fi plus and additional battery capacities.
It is widely understood that LG Electronics are currently selecting its partners for the G5 successor, the G6, in preparation for a spring 2017 release. However with outlines of the LG G6 approaching, some are expecting the new G flagship handset to move away from the modular design and towards new functions that have not been seen before in previous LG Smartphones.
LG Electronics is not going to apply modularized structure for its next strategic Smartphone called ‘G6 (tentative)’ that is expected to be released in 2017. It is basically withdrawing its strategy of modularization that was first introduced to G5 in just a year.
