The Nokia Lumia 530 is now in stock

If you’re looking for a Windows 8.1 phone on a budget, look no further than the entry level Nokia Lumia 530, now available.

Whilst Nokia have offered this at a lower price to the entry level Android OS Motorola Moto E ,  they certainly haven’t scrimped on spec.  Offering a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 512MB of RAM, all wrapped up with a 4-inch 854 x 480 LCD display, the Nokia Lumia performs way past its sub-£100 price tag.

Offering an upgraded platform from the Nokia Lumia 520, it includes 4GB of internal storage, expandable with a microSD card slot up to a further 128GB. The handset also comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Office, allowing  students (or professionals) to access work whether they’re on campus or at home, all backed up on 15GB of OneDrive cloud storage included with the purchase.

The Nokia Lumia 530 offers changeable fashion conscious covers and all the latest social networking apps all wrapped up together.  Skype, Viber, Line, Facebook, Shazam, Instagram are all there to keep you connected, alongside streamed Radio, which is cleverly available off line so you can keep the party going even when you’re out of a wifi zone. Another handy ‘off line’ feature is the maps and navigation app which doesn’t require you to be online whilst travelling to your destination.

This is a 5-megapixel camera on the rear which is adequate for quick instagram snaps, however the lack of the front-facing camera rules off selfies and video calls which will disappoint some users. Nevertheless, features such as the Word Flow keyboard and Nokia’s popular Action Centre prove that the Nokia Lumia 530 is a budget smartphone that packs a powerful punch.
