Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL have been announced

Microsoft is soon to be announcing the pre-release of the Lumia 950 and larger Lumia 950 XL. Unlike their Microsoft Lumia 640 and 640 XL predecessors, the Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL will be the first handsets to be preloaded with the Windows 10 interface.  This will allow users access to the superior features and enriched tile layout.

Both handsets are constructed using Gorilla Glass 4 casing, offering excellent damage resistance and protection. They also both offer 32 GB of internal memory, 3GB of Ram, a 20 megapixel rear camera and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera.

Differences between the handset occur in the display size and processor. The Microsoft Lumia 950 is the smaller of the two, with a 5.2 inch display, whilst the Lumia 950 XL has a 5.7 inch offering. Both screens are however AMOLED capacitive touchscreens.

The Lumia 950 runs using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, whilst the 950 XL offers a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. Both of which offer advance mobile experiences for video lovers, gamers and photographers.

Windows 10 isn’t the only new addition to the handsets. Microsoft have added the impressive Continuum feature, which allows users to hook their devices up to a monitor, mouse and keyboard to upscale their apps and use the device in the same way they would use a Microsoft desktop. This makes the handset perfect for those who find themselves working at the office, at home and away.

Both handsets will be pre-released in the near future, with pre-orders expected in November.
