Nokia have released the Nokia 5228, a simple, yet fun Smartphone ideal for those who like to keep in touch and be entertained. Nokia’s 5228 is a lightweight option, at only 113g and offers a sleek style, similar in design to the Nokia 5230 with smooth curved edges and a clean, clear frontage. The home screen provides some personalisation options and includes a handy Media Bar touch key, which provides great access your music, gallery, video centre and web browser with just one touch.
Like the Nokia N900, the 5228 is packed with Resistive Touch Technology, meaning you can chose to use a stylus to navigate the responsive 3.2inch touch screen. The handwriting recognition option when messaging is a love it or hate it option. For those who are dubious about handwriting their texts, we found that after a bit of practise it was quite feasible to pick up a respectable word per minute rate. However, for an easier option when texting or emailing, Nokia have also included an on-screen QWERTY keyboard.
The Nokia 5228 is certainly appealing to music lovers. The handset supports a wide range of music formats, including MP3, AAC, eAAC+, WMA and WAV. Whilst you can chose to use a standard 3.5mm headset with the 5228, we loved the wireless option of using our Bluetooth headset to listen to the music, and surprisingly audio quality through this option was not compromised. Not only that, your music library is also only a touch away, with Nokia Ovi Player accessible on the Media bar located on the home screen. Nokia also advertise up to 33 hours of music time without the need for a charge, which is a bonus in our eyes!

The Nokia 5228 will also provide you with access to all that Ovi has to offer, including Ovi mail and instant messaging.
