The BlackBerry Classic is just a few days away
Friday, January 2nd, 2015The long awaited Blackberry Classic is due within a couple of days. With a very similar design to the Blackberry Bold 9900, the BlackBerry Classic is aimed at die-hard BlackBerry fans and business users who hold security and speedy communications above the touch screen, app heavy features of traditional smart phones.
Design wise, the Classic is quintessential Blackberry, thanks to the QWERTY keyboard, navigation buttons and business like appearance. Reminiscent of the Blackberries from the past, the Blackberry Classic looks back the glory days of Blackberry not only in design, but also in specs.
Key features include a square 3.5 inch 720p LCD display, 1.5GHz dual core CPU, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 chipset and 2 GB of Ram.
Included in the handset is a 8 mega pixel forward facing camera, with auto focus, digital image stabilization and an 2 megapixel front facing camera. Enjoy 1080 p video capture and 16GB of built in storage, with microSD card slot for expandable storage.
Running on Blackberry 10.3 OS, users will enjoy the Virtual assistant, and the ability to run Android applications (via Amazon Appstore). Navigation is via a series of touch gestures, with familiar Blackberry swipe controles.
Offering a larger screen than the Bold 9900 and the Blackberry Q10 and a battery promising enough power for 22 hours of use, the Blackberry Classic is not only good looking but practical too.
Upon our testing, we found the keyboard excellent for typing and the trackpad made navigation easy. BlackBerry is definitely going back to what it knows best.
