The BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition offers an impressive upgrade

Wednesday, September 20th, 2017

The BlackBerry KEYone original edition combined the QWERTY keyboard we love BlackBerry for, with the full Android experience. Add to that the DTEK security system and we were sold.

However, this month we see BlackBerry unveiling an all-black version of the original black and silver device that comes with an upgrade in the RAM and internal storage departments. Listening to customers feedback, BlackBerry have inflated the internal offerings to give you more speed and more memory.

The Black Edition of the KEYone houses 4 GB of RAM, up from the 3 GB of RAM of its predecessor, and 64 GB of internal storage space instead of the original 32 GB of storage.

Check out the specification sheet for more details. Don’t forget all of our BlackBerry KEYone devices are available with UK and international delivery, and if you’re out of the EU you’ll pay the Ex VAT price.

So whats new?

The buttons, frame and ring around the camera lens on the Black Edition are black instead of the silver on the original. To warrant the extra price tag, BlackBerry have also upgraded the internal specs slightly.  Now you’ll get 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on the Black Edition, up from 3GB and 32GB respectively on the KEYone original device.

Everything else about the two phones will be the same, down to the keyboard shortcuts and Android 7.1.2 software.

BlackBerry KEYone: The KEY to Success.

Wednesday, July 5th, 2017

Entering our life in February, it is easy to see how BlackBerry’s mid-level device provides a productive daily experience for business and pleasure. Fitting in well at the office and out with friends, the BlackBerry KEYone is more than just a smartphone with a physical QWERTY keyboard and is proving to be one of the most BlackBerry handsets ever released.

Balancing a solid aluminium frame with a soft-touch textured back, the BlackBerry KEYone offers an improved grip. Packing a physical keyboard beneath the 4.5-inch IPS screen (with an unusual 3:2 aspect ration), the device is perfect for anyone who hates  virtual keyboards, or those who send a lot of emails daily.

Running on the latest version 7.1 of Android (Nougat) out of the box, the KEYOne delivers plenty of great features including the ability to split-screen with apps and smart battery monitoring. Keep all of your information safe with the exclusive to BlackBerry DTEK security suite. The additional fingerprint sensor is built into the space bar on the keyboard, to securely unlock your phone with just a quick tap.

A Snapdragon 625 processor is backed by 3GB of RAM, and the 32GB of storage is backed by full microSD support, so you can add a memory SD card up to 256GB in size for all of your data and downloads.

Pre Order the BlackBerry KEYone for £499

Monday, April 3rd, 2017

Formerly known as the BlackBerry “Mercury,” the Blackberry KEYone (available now on preorder) is hoping to give the Samsung Galaxy S8 a run for its money after a positive response to its announcement.

During Mobile World Congress 2017 BlackBerry CEO John Chen suggested that the BlackBerry KEYone was hitting the shops mid-April. However, this date has been pushed back to early May due to an an “overwhelmingly positive” response to the KEYone, that has exceeded the manufacturer’s initial supply (according to TCL North America President and General Manager Steve Cistulli on Twitter).

Cistulli explained that TCL (the company responsible for the build of the device) and BlackBerry decided to postpone the launch by a month so that it could produce more devices.

The BlackBerry KEYone Now Announced and it’s all about the Keyboard

Monday, February 27th, 2017

BlackBerry announced their latest handset, the BlackBerry KEYone, at Mobile World Congress last week and as we come to expect from BlackBerry: it’s all about the Keyboard.

Resurrecting the excitement for BlackBerry’s iconic keyboard, the tech giants have taken their gesture touch sensitive offering of the BlackBerry PRIV to the next level with a smooth and innovative design.

The smart keyboard goes beyond typing, with gesture touch that allows the keyboard to act as a trackpad, allowing you scroll through your messages and photos in an instant. Contextual auto-correction, next-word prediction, personalised learning engine, Flick Typing and Touch navigation also ensures your keyboard responds to touch gestures like a trackpad to get jobs done quickly.

As well as the convenience key on the side of the device, you are now able to programme every key on the QWERTY keyboard to act as a shortcut with a long or short press. This will allow you to program the letter C, for example, to open the camera app. U becomes Uber, F becomes Facebook and I becomes Instagram saving you time and adding even more convenience into your day.

The spacebar has also become the new fingerprint sensor, adding more security to the already densely protected DTEK device.
