How to set up Custom Actions with Edge Sense on the HTC U11
Saturday, December 30th, 2017Alongside the U11, HTC launched a new feature allowing you to launch apps and take photos by squeezing your phone.
In an update earlier this year, the tech giants expanded the use of this feature as an alternative to tap or double tap features within your favorite apps. You can squeeze to zoom-in on Google Maps, play and pause music with a squeeze when your music is playing in the background, and you can even assign a short and long squeeze command to more than one app.
Avid readers will not doubt enjoy using the squeeze facility when accessing their favourite reads on Amazon Kindle apps too. Here’s how:
- Open the app tray
- Select Settings.
- Tap Edge Sense
- Scroll down and select ‘Add more in-app options’
- Select Amazon Kindle.
- Select ‘Short Squeeze’.
- Select any book in your collection when the Kindle App auto.
- Tap the red hand+ icon at the top of your screen
- A menu will pop up. Select Tap, then press OK.
- Give the action a name and then press Save.
You will now be able to turn a page with a simple squeeze.
Custom app actions are available with a range of app and squeezes will also work simultaneously inside multiple apps, so you can quickly switch between apps.
