REDUCTION: £35 off the LG G6

Wednesday, May 10th, 2017

Now available for £614.98 inc VAT (£512.48 ex VAT), the LG G6 offers an extensive array of specification features.

The UPS for the G6 is definitely the impressive 18:9 screen ratio. Whilst most mobile devices have adopted the 16:9 widescreen format, but the LG G6 offers a taller, 18:9 ratio. Consequently, the device provides the generous feel of the 5.7 inch large screen without any cumbersome width. The phone comes with ridiculously slim bezels allowing the display to take up over 80 per cent of its front side.

The new ratio means that the display is twice as wide as it is high, and LG said it drew inspiration for this format from Univisium, a 2:1 film format that is proving more popular recently.
As Android apps are designed to scale, most apps will have no trouble adapting to the 18:9 format. For full screen apps LG has added an “App scaling” feature that lets you switch between Compatibility (16:9), Standard (16.7:9) and Full Screen (18:9) with a swipe down from the top of the screen.

LG G6 NOW IN STOCK: Here’s 6 Reasons to buy it.

Thursday, April 13th, 2017

Now in stock, the LG G6 certainly stands out from the crowd for many reasons; here’s six of the best:

1. A 18:9 Screen Ratio

Most mobile devices have adopted the 16:9 widescreen format, but the LG G6 offers a taller, 18:9 ratio provides the generous feel of the 5.7 inch large screen without any cumbersome width.

2. Expandable Memory

A dual-purpose slot on the side of the device can take either a second SIM or a microSD card, which will allow you to  expand the memory up to 2TB.

3. Durability

The G6 is IP68 rated, meaning you could in theory submerge it at a depth of 1.5m for 30 minutes. That 5.7 inch screen is also protected by Gorilla Glass 3 with an angled internal design so any impact isn’t directly conveyed to the screen.

4. Fast charging capabilities

Supporting Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3, you can charge your LG G6 to around 50% in 30 minutes.

5. Dual lens Camera

LG have retained the dual-lens camera of the G5 for their latest flagship.  At the rear there’s one 125-degree wide-angle lens,  paired with a standard 71-degree field of view lens. There manual photo and video modes allow you to modify the focus, shutter speed, ISO, white balance and exposure compensation for a top notch finished article.

6. Functionality

The internals of the LG G6 impress, with a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM,a 3,300mAh non-removable battery, fingerprint reader, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 4.2, and Android Nougat out of the box.

The Gimmick Free LG G6

Sunday, February 19th, 2017

The LG G5 ended up friendless, with the modular ‘snap-on’ construction failing to impress users.

This year we see LG stripping it back to the tried and tested formula, with the LG G6 promising a more conventional design.

Expected February 26th 2017, the LG G6 is likely to house a SD830 chip, and run on Android 7.0. We could see the LG G6 featuring a 4K display, alongside and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, plus a weighty 32GB storage. Rumours are also hinting that the LG G6 will feature an Upgraded Quad DAC for a crystal clear audio experience.

Strong rumours surfaced on the twitter feed of Android Police journalist David Ruddock:

“LG G6 will not have a removable battery, LG will move to an all-glass design language similar to Samsung. Headphone jack is a go.”

However, Ruddock continued with a correction stating:

Screen Shot 2017-02-13 at 14.16.02

”Correction: G6 is not all glass body, but has a highly reflective metallic material on the rear.”

LG G6 to feature an Upgraded Quad DAC

Monday, February 13th, 2017

LG offered incredible audio quality on the LG V20 with Quad DAC (four digital-to-analog converters). The ES9218 DAC from ESS,  featured a parallel sub-DAC configuration to improve noise performance and total harmonic distortion.

lg g6

But it looks like the LG G6 might take the audio quality a step further, as it’s going to feature an upgraded Quad DAC.  The new 32-bit DAC will offer distortion levels of just 0.0002% for a clean sound and will also allow control the left and right earphones separately, for more balanced audio experience.

Rumoured to be released at MWC17, the LG G6 promises to offer an impressive new 5.7-inch QHD display. Register your interest to be the first in line for pre-orders.

Could the LG G6 be the first non-Pixel phone to feature Google Assistant?

Tuesday, January 24th, 2017

The LG G6 may be unveiled in its final form at MWC this February, with promise of a new and improved 5.7-inch QHD display, waterproof casing and a design blend of the LG V20 and LG G5. (read more here)

But the excitement doesn’t end there. Business Korea, recently reported a collaboration between LG and Google to help integrate an AI system into upcoming the device. Integrating Google’s personal assistant into the LG G6 would allow the South Korean company to keep up with the likes of Apple’s Siri and Microsoft’s Cortana and would be the first time this particular AI system is used outside of Google Pixel handsets.

If proven correct, this leaked news will see LG become the first OEM to use Google Assistant and may see Google Assistant feature in LG’s next wearable devices.
