A rather reliable leak from Samsung Indonesia was posted onto YouTube this week showing “The Next Galaxy”, which is presumably the Samsung Galaxy S7. Whilst the video doesn’t offer much hardware specs or confirmed information, we can still detect some interesting details.

The video shows a design not too dissimilar to the S6, with curved edges and the use of a wireless charger. There are also shots of the user, an Indonesian Archer, monitoring their exercise and pairing the handset with a smartwatch. The video also depicts the handset surviving a heavy downpour in the tropics, hinting at a waterproof and maybe dustproof technology, again like the Galaxy S6. We do have to point out that there is some controversy surrounding the video, with many claiming the handset featured is simply the Samsung S6 Edge+ and not the upcoming S7.

With all the similarities to the S6, it leaves us wondering what is new for the S7? Fresh press renders of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets are revealing a gold, silver and black colour option (with no emerald and white options from previous models). We are also predicting the revival the microSD card slot for expandable memory. However we are a little disappointed that  the removable battery will apparently not make a comeback on this release.

Forbes have also highlighted in a recent leak that the battery capacity of the Galaxy S7 will offer a 1000 mAh increase over the Galaxy S6 Edge thanks to a 3600 mAh battery. Whilst TechRadar are hinting at the adoption of an always-on display technology into the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, which may be the reason the for this increase in battery power.

After months of leaks, Samsung has launched the latest Galaxy smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, namely the S6 and the S6 Edge. Both the S6 and the S6 Edge have been manufactured in metal instead of plastic, giving them a premium look. The rear of each device is made of glass to enable wireless charging, simply rest the device on the compatible charging pad.

Both devices include advanced camera technology, together with mobile payment feature, dedicated heart rate monitor and infra–red blaster so that the phone can be used as a TV remote. They each have a 16 megapixel cameras with optical image stabilisation, together with a 5 megapixel front facing camera for the all important selfie. With no dedicated camera button, launching the camera is by simply double pressing the home button. This should take just 0.7 seconds.

Both models have a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display with pixel density of 577ppi providing perfect clarity for watching videos and movies. The Galaxy S6 has a flat display whilst the S6 Edge has a curved display similar that found on the Note Edge. The curves on the S6 Edge run down each side of the display as opposed to the one side on the Note Edge, giving it a unique look and increasing the viewing width and height of videos and photos.
