Sony has replaced the Xperia Z Tablet with the new Xperia Z2, the world’s slimmest and lightest waterproof tablet.

The Xperia Z2 Tablet is just 6.8 mm thick and weighs in at a mere 426grams, around 70 grams lighter than its predecessor and 30 grams lighter than the iPad Air. Build quality has not been sacrificed with the Z2. The tablet feels robust and easy to hold and with its IP55/ IP58 water and dust resistance certification, it can be used in most situations including under water. The Xperia Z2 Tablet has flaps to cover the different ports on the tablet for protection from water and dust.

Sony’s Z2 Tablet has a quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, as does the Xperia Z2  smartphone,  and 3GB of RAM with 16GB of storage.  There is also a microSd slot to increase storage. The tablet arrives with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology, which speeds up the time taken to charge the battery.  The 6000mAh lithium battery provides up to 10 hours of multimedia use and over 100 hours of music playback time.

This is the world’s first tablet to have Live Colour LED display providing a superior viewing experience.  The 10.1 inch Full HD TRILUMINOUS Display for mobile with a resolution of 1980 x 1200 gives natural, bright colours with sharp images.
