Setting itself a challenge to Samsung and Apple, Nokia has announced the new Lumia 830. Very similar in design to the Lumia 930 with its aluminium surround and brightly coloured rear cover, the high quality polycarbonate cover has a matte finish and has a compact feel being only 8.5 mm thick. It is also a very lightweight device weighing just 150 grams. The device will be available in green, orange black or white.

Nokia’s “first affordable flagship” has a 5 inch 720p ClearBlack IPS-LCD display and is a slimmer version of the Lumia 930. Measuring 139 x 70 x 8.5 mm it weighs just 150 grams. Nokia has made the optical image stabilisation module slimmer but the device still boasts a 10 megapixel PureView camera with Carl Zeiss optics.

The Lumia 830 runs a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor,  with Microsoft Office, OneDrive and Cortana all built in.  It has 16GB of built in storage which is expandable via microSD. With a removable 2200mAh battery, the device includes support for wireless charging and NFC.

With new features on this Windows phone such as the Lumia Denim update, providing faster photography, the Lumia 830 offers a great performance at a great price.

Nokia is meeting the selfie fans full on with the new Nokia Lumia 735. With its 5 megapixel front facing camera specifically built for taking images of yourself,  it has a wide angle 24mm lens making selfie groups easier to capture. If you’re looking for a Windows 8.1 phone on a budget, look no further than the entry level Nokia Lumia 530, now available.

The device has 8GB of internal memory together with 7GB of OneDrive cloud storage together with a microSd clot that supports up to 128GB.

Nokia’s Lumia 635 comes in five glossy colours, bright orange, green, yellow, black and white. The ClearBlack 4.5 inch display has a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels giving a pixel density of 221ppi.

The Lumia 635 has a 5 megapixel camera but unlike other Windows devices such as the Nokia Lumia 930, the 635 does not have a dedicated camera button. To activate the camera you will need to use the touchscreen button.

The Windows Phone 8.1 features Cortana, a voice operating system which is Microsoft’s version of Apple’s Siri . The Lumia 635 also features ActionCentre which can be found by swiping down from the top of your phone.  Showing all new activities and notifications at a glance ActionCenter is the place to view alerts and to take any action necessary.

This latest devise from Nokia, the Nokia Lumai 635, is impressive with fun eye-catching neon colours, making it look very similar to other Lumia models.  But with the addition of Windows 8.1 and Cortana, this affordable device stands out from the crowd.
