The YotaPhone 2 has launched in the UK and is the second device from the Russian brand. It is a two fronted smartphone with a regular touchscreen on the front and an e-ink touchscreen at the back and can be controlled from either side.

The e-ink screen has a resolution of 960 x 540 providing sharp easily to read text. It is fully touch-enabled and can be swiped as per any normal Android device.  Apps such as Kindle, Google Books and Kobo are all available on the device, giving a wide selection of reading literature. The front 5 inch display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 with icons and text clearly and sharply displayed.

YotaPhone’s 2 is very functional with very little clutter and with Gorilla Glass 2 to both the front and rear, the device has a solid and premium feel. The plastic frame surrounding the device has a textured feel providing a good grip. Even though the device has two screens it is still only 9mm thick and sits very comfortably in the hand.

This device has a 2500mAh non-removable battery and comes with a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor. Running Android 4.4.3 KitKat, the YotaPhone 2 has 32GB of internal storage for apps, games and movies but there is no microSD slot for expansion.  It also has 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC.

The YotaPhone 2 has an 8 megapixel camera with features including Panorama, Lens Blur and Photo Sphere. It can also capture 1080p video at 30fps. There is also a 2.1 megapixel front camera for the selfie lover.

TYotaPhone 2 is a phone of two halves and will certainly spark off conversations, a perfect device for someone looking for something a little different.
