Squeeze the Google Pixel 2 to Activate Google Assistant

Two new Pixel devices are set to hit the mobile world shortly, with the Pixel 2 promising a 5 inch display and the Pixel XL 2 sporting a larger 6 inch screen.

Both devices are also likely to bring back a feature first seen on the HTC U11. The ‘active edge’ feature (seen here under the ‘languages, input and gestures’ section of the systems menu leaked via FCC files) will allow users to squeeze the sides of their phone to activate certain features, like Google Assistant.

Filings with the FCC last week all but confirmed the squeezable technology, as well as an Android 8.0.1 Operating System.
