Netflix adds HDR support for iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X

Great news for Netflix fans; you’ll now be able to watch your favourite box sets in Dolby Vision HDR on Apple’s newly launched iPhone 8, 8Plus and iPhone X.

Netflix users are already able to stream HDR video on the new Apple TV 4K, but the updates will allow you the high quality viewing experience on the go.

What is HDR?

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. HDR offers an improved viewing experience in comparison to SDR (Standard dynamic range), with an expanded range of colour and contrast contrast. Consequently, bright parts of an image look brighter, and the darker bits have more depth.

What can I watch in HDR?

Not all content on Netflix is available in HDR just yet, but the selection consists entirely of Netflix’s original shows, documentaries, and movies. Simply search for “HDR” right in Netflix.

Download the Netflix on iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus – available now with UK and international delivery.
