3 Things to expect from Google’s I/O Annual Developer Conference:

Tuesday 7th May kicks off with Google I/O annual developer conference goes until May 9th, most of the big announcements will happen during the 90-minute keynote starting at 1PM ET (10AM PT). Here are our top 3 predictions for what we’ll be seeing across the week:

The Pixel 3A and 3A XL

As per usual with any new mobile release, leaks and rumours of the Pixel 3A and 3A XL devices have been flying. We expect both devices to offer a similar camera performance to their flagship Pixel 3 phones, but you’re likely to shell out a lot less money for these models. Cost-cutting does come at a price, with slightly less powerful processors, a plastic build and no wireless charging. But fear not, both handsets will offer headphone jacks, three years of software and security updates, plus other features like Call Screen.

A Preview of Android Q

We’ve seen a handful of beta releases of Android Q from Google already, but we’re expecting the tech giants to offer up more insight into the OS upgrade during their Annual Developer conference. We’re expecting to see more flexible privacy controls, the ability to limit apps to tracking location, a dark mode and a much more responsive sharing menu.

Improvements to Google Photos

It has become one of the most popular photo management App on the market and we’re expecting to see Google introduce new features at I/O. Then there’s predicted updates to Google Lens too, which turns the camera of Android phones into a powerful computer vision tool.

Stay tuned to the blog, as we update you with all the latest news at the week progresses.
