LG G7 rumoured to house an advanced iris scanner

We are expecting the latest LG handset to join the G family next month at Mobile World Congress, and rumours are going wild.

Last month, a patent was discovered that suggested the Korean tech company is preparing to use advanced AIO Eye-Scanning technology set to take on Apple’s FaceID.  It will not only unlock the device, but also help you make protect sensitive information by checking the biometric characteristics of the eye.

The patent also suggests that the consumer may be required to follow a series of dots on the screen with their eye; an upgrade to current pattern unlock where you swipe with a finger. Dubbed as an “active” retina scanning with a moving eye adds an additional security level that ensures someone cannot break into the phone just by holding up a static image of your eye.
