Motorola have recently announced a stream of new devices, from the larger than life Moto G6 Plus, to the small but perfectly formed Moto E5.
Today we’ll be looking at their flagship release, the Motorola Moto G6.
Here’s 6 things you need to know about the Motorola Moto G6:
1. High end design, mid-range price.
Motorola really do offer a high end aesthetic within the Motorola Moto G6, without the price tag to match. The curved glass back and aluminium sides feel similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7. The Gorilla Glass construction also provides you a decent level of protection when on the go. The device also uses a USB-C port rather than the dated microUSB seen in last year’s models.
2. Display
The G6 follows the on-trend 18:9 screen ratio, which allows the 5.7-inch display to fit into a shell no wider than last year’s 5-inch Moto G5. This taller, more narrow screen also makes for great widescreen TV viewing and gaming opportunities.
3. Camera
The dual rear cameras are a nice addition to this mid range handset. The main rear sensor is 12 megapixel, and offers a wider f/1.8 aperture for better photos in low light. The second sensor acts in a similar way to those found on the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, to create shallow depth of filled effects. You’ll also enjoy some new features, including Landmark recognition and object recognition.
4. Improved Audio
Motorola have moved the Speaker on the Moto G6 to the front edge making the sound much harder to muffle. The addition of Dolby Audio also makes the audio experience much more enjoyable.
5. Specifications and battery life.
Running on Qualcomm’s latest mid range processor, the Snapdragon 450 and 3GB RAM the G6 is a step up from the cheaper Moto G6 Play. The Snapdragon 450 uses 14nm transistors, which is half the size of the Snapdragon 430. This offers a more efficient processor and longer batter life. There’s a 3,000 mAh battery and the internal storage has also been upped from last year too.
6. Price
The Motorola Moto G6 offers similar features to those found on the iPhone X and Samsung’s latest Galaxy devices, so you may have been preparing yourself for a price tag to match. However, the Motorola Moto G6 is priced under £220, which is almost unbelievable.
