Monday, January 30th, 2017

We are all aware the product placement is a huge marketing tactic, but imagine our surprise to see the yet to be released BlackBerry Mercury pop up on ABC’s The Last Man Standing. The ‘DTEK70′ Mercury device is predicted to be released on Saturday 25th February, days before Mobile World Congress 2017.

The latest episode shows the QWERTY handset features plenty of screen time, being held and used by Michael Baxter, Allen’s character. The phone also showed a photo of “Brother Jimmy” with animated horns and smoke spewing out of his ears.

From the appearance we can confirm that the device will have a QWERTY keyboard underneath a 4.5-inch touchscreen display. Rumours are circulating that the QWERTY keypad will also act as a trackpad, will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and house a fingerprint sensor in the Space Bar.

HTC U Play and HTC U Ultra: Register to Pre-order today

Saturday, January 21st, 2017

Register your interest in HTC’s latest additions, the HTC U Play and HTC U Ultra.

Both handsets are built with a beautifully contoured, liquid surface that’s designed to reflect the phone’s symmetrical construction, and the way it transforms light as you turn it. Created with an entirely new process where colours are bonded to the glass in multiple layers, HTC use extreme pressure and heat to mimic the natural surface tension of liquid.

The two handsets both house a 16-megapixel front-facing BSI sensor with an UltraPixel mode, 28mm focal length and f/2.0 aperture. Both are capable of Full HD video recording, offering modes including Auto HDR, Voice Selfie and Live Make-Up.

Rear cameras differ slightly with the U Ultra offering a 12-megapixel UltraPixel sensor featuring 1.55µm pixels and an aperture of f/1.8. HTC’s U Play opts for a larger 16-megapixel rear camera with an aperture of f/2.0, phase detection autofocus and OIS.
