The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 is now in stock

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Xcover 3, a rugged smartphone perfect for those loving the outdoor life. It supports LTE frequencies and is equipped with a compass and an altimeter, necessities for the adventurer.

The device is built to Military Standard 810G, which basically means that the phone will withstand adverse weather conditions and can easily survive being dropped. The device is also IP67 certificated meaning it is dustproof and can withstand water ingress for up to 30 minutes to a depth of 1 metre.

Weighing just 154 grams with a sturdy body of just 9.95mm thick, the device has a 4.5 inch WVGA display and a 1.2 GHz quad core processor. It has 8GB of expandable storage and 1.5GB of RAM. The Xcover 3 runs Android 4.4 KitKat which will be upgradeable to 5.0 Lollipop at a later date.

The device has a 5 megapixel auto focus, rear facing camera with LED flash and a 2 megapixel front facing camera. It also comes with a dedicated Xcover Key to enable LED flash or to launch the camera.
