LG V20: Confirmed to be the first smartphone in the industry to feature 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC capabilities

Most of the information we have on the LG V20 is still rumours and speculation, but LG have confirmed one detail on a recent press release. LG Electronics (LG) announced that the LG V20 will be first smartphone in the industry to feature 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC (digital to analog converter) capabilities.

LG have worked closely with ESS Technology (a leader in high performance audio & analog devices) to create an Quad DAC that not only delivers a crisp and clear sound that comes closest to a live performance, but is superior by reducing up to 50 percent of ambient noise levels. We have seen ESS Technology used previously as the 32-bit Hi-Fi DAC in the V20′s predecessor, the LG V10.

It is also interesting to note that videos taken on the LG V20 will be accompanied by a soundtrack that can ‘capture the roaring sound of waves crashing on a beach or conversations among two individuals at a noisy party.’

Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company, stated:

“As smartphones mature, we’re seeing more and more customers looking beyond just fast processors and big displays in their devices… Higher quality audio is simply the natural evolution of the smartphone, as the industry moves toward a more holistic multimedia consumption experience. We’re pleased to continue this long-term partnership with ESS and bring best in class audio to LG V20 users.”

Don’t forget to register your interest in the LG V20 to be one of the first to pre-order the handset. Other Android mobiles released this month include the Motorola Moto Z with Moto Mod accessories and the Motorola Moto Z Play.
