The Superior Battery of the Moto G4 Plus

Tuesday, June 28th, 2016

One of the big selling points of the Moto G4 and G4 Plus is the 3,000mAh battery cell, which for a phone of this size is needed. The combination of a highly efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 and the a 3,000mAh battery allows the handset to confidently deliver a day of moderate use.  The fact that it doesn’t have to power a power draining quad-HD display, means it performs slightly better than the LG G5 when tested.

Whilst the back of the Moto G4 Plus and G4 standard is removable, the battery is built in. Nevertheless, Motorola have considered battery charging time with their latest range of Moto G handsets, supporting fast ‘Turbocharge’ capabilities. The official Motorola website states that TurboPower™gives your Moto G up to 6 hours of power in just 15 minutes of charging. When we tested we found that it took just under an hour for the battery to reach 80% and 85 minutes to power up the battery completely, making it perfect for those who forget to charge their handset overnight.

The Turbo charge also allows you to charge your smartphone, phablet and tablets without decreasing your battery’s lifespan thanks to its optimized battery charging algorithm, and avoid any overheating issues as well as power surges. It is important to note that the Turbocharger comes as standard with any Motorola Moto G4 Plus, but will have to be purchased separately if you are going for the basic Moto G4.
