New Samsung SmartWatches now available online

We recently saw the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S5 mobile phone. Along with the S5, three new SmartWatches were revealed by Samsung and they are now available to order online.

The first watch is the follow up to the Samsung Galaxy Gear, the Samsung Gear 2, which offers extra functionality. It features a new lighter design and a 2 mega pixel camera built in which is located on the screen. The devise has built in apps to use with your Smartphone.

Samsung also announced the Samsung Gear 2 Neo, which features a new 1.63-inch Super AMOLED screen and only weighs 55 grams. You can change the straps of the Gear 2 Neo, which allows you to personalise the devise.

The third SmatWatch to be announced was the Samsung Gear Fit, which offers the world’s first curved Super AMOLED wearable display. The Gear Fit is a perfect wearable devise to use with fitness applications. The 1.84 inch touch display also notifies you of incoming calls, texts and emails.

The Samsung Galaxy Gear Now Available

Saturday, October 26th, 2013

The new Samsung Galaxy Gear with its 1.63 inch AMOLED screen can be used alongside your Galaxy smartphone or tablet. With wireless connectivity, the Galaxy Gear connects whilst your phone is still in your pocket or bag acting as an external display, informing you when you have an incoming call or message.

The square watch face sits well on the wrist and with a small screw in each corner of the watch it is easy to swap straps. The straps come in a variety of 6 different colours ranging from Wild Orange to Jet Black. The strap has a slight bulge which accommodates the 1.9 megapixel camera with a BSI sensor capable of capturing 720p video. The watch has a clasp rather than a buckle and it’s this clasp which houses two microphones with the speaker being in the watch itself. The Galaxy Gear is stylish with its brushed metal finish and sleek front.

Connection is via Bluetooth 4.0 Le and the watch is powered by an 800MHz processor. It has an AutoLock feature which will automatically lock the phone if you are over and metre and a half away if the phone isn’t in your pocket or bag. By using the Find My Device you can track your phone by making it vibrate and flash.

With just one power button the watch can be navigated by using the touch display screen. The 320 x 320 pixel resolution gives sharp images and text is easily readable. It also shows off images captured on the device really well.

The 315mAh battery should provide approximately 25 hours life compared to the several days of battery life offered by the Sony SmartWatch2.

Overall the Galaxy Gear is a well built device and the camera integrated into the strap does take good images. The Galaxy gear is limited to the compatible devices at the moment but Samsung is working on making it compatible with other Samsung devices.

You can now order the Samsung Galaxy Gear online from Unlocked Mobiles.
