Integrating Google’s personal assistant into the LG G6 would allow the South Korean company to keep up with the likes of Apple’s Siri and Microsoft’s Cortana and would be the first time this particular AI system is used outside of Google Pixel handsets.

Google Play gets an Artificial Intelligence Makeover

Tuesday, November 15th, 2016

Google have seriously overhauled their music platform, launching the improved Google Music this week on Android, iOS and on the web.

The big update?  Google will now be using AI to offer streaming mixes based on your location and activity. As Elias Roman, Lead Product Manager at Google Play Music revealed, the new app will utilize machine learning and new advanced algorithms to deliver best possible listening recommendations to its users. New factors taken into account when suggesting music will include your location, activity, and even weather.

Google Play

For example; if you’re going for a workout Google will play appropriate gym music, or if you’re out on the beach get ready for some chilled out tunes and if you’re out on a sunny day listen out for preppy songs to keep your feet tapping.

The new version of the app now promises to be the most personalised ‘DJ’ on offer and boasts a redesigned home screen whose contents will depend on your music preferences and habits. Google says the new Play Music will start to roll out in 62 countries this week.

Here’s what the media has to say about the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL

Thursday, November 10th, 2016

Google took the mobile world by storm, with the Pixel and Pixel offering the best of Google software, the latest Android OS out of the box and a sleek and chic design.

google pixel

Here’s what some of the world’s press had to say about the handset:

‘The Pixel XL’s 3,450mAh battery can get you through a day and more on a single charge, even if you are a heavy phone user.’ - . Shelby Carpenter for Forbes

‘The Pixels are fast — noticeably faster than Samsung’s Galaxy S7. On performance alone, these are easily the best Android phones you can buy. For a phone made by Google, that’s absolutely the expectation — it’s just good to note that at its first time at bat, Google hit a home run.’  Dieter Bohn for The Verge.

‘Google Pixel makes Android’s long-press much more useful. A new feature in Android 7.1 will feel familiar to iPhone converts, and speed up common tasks for diehard Android users.’ Jason Cipriano for CNET

‘One of the benefits of creating its own phone, is that the Google software can be fine-tuned to run like a charm on the hardware. With its clean, stock Android experience, there’s no bloat or additional software to get in the way. That means everything is very snappy and smooth in operation. In fact, we’d go as far as saying it’s the most responsive Android phone we’ve ever used.’  Cam Bunton for Pocket-lint
